Friday, May 26, Day 1 and 2

Friday, May 26th, Day 1-2 

We are officially on our way. We spent last night on a buoy in Eagle Harbor off Cypress Island. This morning we had a beautiful, sunny, two hour cruise to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. Tomorrow we will cruise to Roche Harbor where we will drop a hook and spend a couple of days doing our last minute provisioning before we cross over to Canada en route to Sidney, Canada. 

For those of you who are just tuning in on our boating adventures, we have been trying to get to Alaska for the past several years. Before COVID hit we were scheduled for the Slowboat flotilla, but the world changed as did our cruising plans. So here we go again, this time, pretty much on our own, save for one fellow boater who has been to Alaska before and gleefully refers to his boat mates as victims! Hopefully, this time around we are better prepared, loaded up with navigation tools, provisioned (thank to Marlene) with two months of food and wired for the outer limits with Starlink.
