We left Bottleneck at 5:30 for our nine hour cruise to Lowe Inlet. It was a “misty fjord” kind of day as evidenced in the above photo. The seas were calm with the current running with us most of the way, giving us a nice lift in speed. It was calm enough for both Marlene and I to each take an hour plus nap while the other person stood watch. We settled in to Lowe Inlet with one other boat in the harbor. This is a deep anchorage bay. Last year this was a tough anchorage for us as we didn’t have a working depth sounder at the time other than the hand held one plunged into the water off the swim step. This year we installed an amazing depth sounder, an additional in hull back up depth sounder, and new Ray Marine Navigational equipment that allows is to accurately visualize the sea bed below. We are anchored in roughly 90 feet. We are planning an early out again tomorrow for our journey to Prince Rupert.
