We left Nanaimo at 7:30 this morning. The forecast was for 6 to 8 knot winds, 1 foot waves with 8 second intervals. The prediction was as expected. It was lumpy for about 3 hours crossing the Strait of Georgia then flattened out as we entered Malpensa strait. It was relatively calm all the remaining journey into Lund Harbor.

End of the road. Highway 101 in parts of the United States and Canada stretches 9,312 miles from Castro on Chile’s south coast to Lund on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast. Lund Harbor is famous for its bakery which we will experience tomorrow morning. Our journey north will continue tomorrow to Blind Channel. We are planning to transit through two rapids:Yuculta and Dent in the afternoon arriving at Blind Channel around 6:30.

We experienced our first “log boom” as we came close to Lund Harbor. This is “Rustler Tug” carrying hundreds of tied logs.

We dined at the local restaurant. Great food, good service, fantastic view.

The journey continues……..

A few parting food notes. The restaurant pub (shown above) is worth a visit. The food is good, the service excellent and the view quite nice. We had the fish tacos. Kudos to the chef. Finally, a visit to Lund would not be complete without tasting their cinnamon buns. We had them warm this morning. Fantastic.

And the shrimpers are baiting up.

Steve, we did exactly that. The Cinnamon buns are fantastic. We got them warm this morning. BTW, the pub restaurant is also worth taking in. The food is good, the service excellent and the view is also not too shabby. We are off to Blind Channel this morning, crossing the rapids on the 3:15 slack.
