Pender Harbor: Parting Thoughts

Alaska Bound 2024

Before our departure this morning we did a final walk around Pender. We discovered a couple of places worth mentioning, and definitely worth visiting. Just up the road from the strip mall where the IGA is located is the Pender Harbor Hotel. Adjacent to the hotel is the Grasshopper Pub. The food is very pub/bistro style. The food is good (not great) but you come here for the view (the picture above was taken from the deck). There is also a great well stocked BC liqueur store with a wide selection of wines and spirits.

Just down the road from the hotel is a relatively new complex of restaurants and bakery, called Harbor Spirit Centre. There is a Mexican and Japanese restaurant and a bakery with “amazing” baked goods. We tried their cranberry scones.
