Alaska Bound 2024

Sunday May 25th, 2025

We left Shearwater this morning at 6:00 a.m. as planned for a 6 hour cruise to Bottleneck Inlet. It has been raining non stop since yesterday. The cruise was pretty uneventful. We knew that the Lord Nelson Tug, Haiqua would likely join us in this inlet, albeit a bit later as they run a little slower then we do. When we arrived there were already two boats in Bottleneck, a 65 foot Fleming named Venture (this a very nice boat) and a Sailboat Peregrine. Here are the boats below.

We are planning to cruise to Butedale tomorrow which is only 4 hours away. We looked at going further North, however the weather is turning a bit rough for getting across Dixon Entrance this week so we thought we might as well stop in Butedale as we have never taken the time on our other trips. Friends of ours on Guemes Island know the owner of the property that lets boats tie up to the dock. Signing off for today!
